A good friend of mine sent me this quote recently. I just love it- and I love the author, Marjorie Pay Hinckley:
“I don’t want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone’s garden. I want to be there with children’s sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.”
Isn’t that great? For me it is so visual, and I can especially relate to the part about being covered with grime.
For our weekly photo news and updates . . . I have a TON of photos to process, SO MANY to blog about, and we are on the mend from a sick spell at our home. In fact, I began the day with my little M. getting “sick” on me at 5:00 a.m. Soooo- as soon as I am able, I will get everything done (in order, right?) and it will be lovely. The fairy canvases turned out amazingly well- I am so excited about what will come next with these designs. Photos of the installation and exciting business updates on the way.
{Sometimes they really act like they love each other to pieces! Other times . . . not so much. I am so happy to have captured this image earlier this evening as the sun was setting.
